Lakeside Aquatic Club's Erica Wang Shatters 10&U Girls 50 Breast NAG Record
In a stunning display of talent, Erica Wang from Lakeside Aquatic Club has shattered the 10&U girls 50 breast National Age Group Record at the COPS 44th Annual Greater Southwest meet in Garland, TX. On the morning of January 30, 2026, Wang clocked an incredible 31.42 seconds, slicing nearly a second off her previous personal best of 31.83, which she achieved just a few weeks prior. This remarkable feat not only broke the record but also surpassed the previous NAG held by Meghan Lynch, who recorded 31.73 in 2014.
Wang's performance is even more impressive considering her age. Although she turned 11 this weekend, she was 10 at the start of the meet, maintaining her eligibility for the 10&U category. Her race this morning was her sole event at the meet, but as a prelim/final meet, she has the opportunity to challenge her record again this evening.
This isn't the first time Wang has dominated in the 10&U girls category this season. She currently holds the top time in a range of events, including the 50 breast, 100 breast (1:10.25), 200 breast (2:36.29), 100 IM (1:03.55), and 200 IM (2:19.72). Her consistent excellence in these events solidifies her position as a rising star in the swimming world, leaving spectators eager to see what future achievements she will attain.
