Last Thursday, the iconic Bulgari brand transformed its Beverly Hills flagship store into a shimmering spectacle, celebrating the launch of the Bvlgari Eternal collection. This isn't just any jewelry line; it's a journey through time, inspired by the brand's rich history.
The event, bathed in the golden hour's glow, showcased 1,100 handcrafted glass 'Rosettas' adorning the exterior, paying homage to a 1930s bracelet clasp. Celebrities like Phoebe Dynevor, Paris Jackson, and Maude Apatow graced the Rodeo Drive boutique, sipping champagne and exploring the curated display of vintage Bulgari jewelry.
But here's where it gets fascinating: the collection's centerpiece is a 1942 bracelet, a nod to the industrial designs of the era and ancient Greco-Roman wicker basket weaving. This piece, known as 'Vimini' (Italian for wicker), has inspired the entire Eternal collection.
Gislain Aucremanne, Bulgari's heritage curator director, traveled from Rome with his beloved archival pieces. He revealed the collection's genesis: a desire to revisit the roots of modular jewelry, emphasizing repetition and the iconic role of yellow gold in Bulgari's signature style. The Eternal Vimini collection is a three-year labor of love, a collaboration between Bulgari's design teams and creative director Lucia Silvestri, who had unrestricted access to the archives.
And this is the part most people miss: the rooftop terrace buzzed with guests enjoying cocktails and sliders, sharing Golden Globes memories. Maude Apatow and Ryan Destiny dazzled in the new collection, with the Vimini bracelet taking center stage—a golden wave embracing the wrist.
