In Singapore, Daiso’s Tanjong Pagar presence will cease at the start of 2026. The company’s post specified the final day of operations at the mall as January 4, while the official closure date is January 5, 2026.
Daiso did not disclose the reasons behind the shutdown in the announcement.
Even after this closure, Daiso maintains 32 physical stores across Singapore. Earlier in July, the Kinex outlet in Tanjong Katong also closed.
Daiso is known for its fixed-price model, with many items sold at a uniform price point of SGD 2. The chain began collecting goods and services tax (GST) in April 2022. In the same month, the company announced the adoption of a 15-tier pricing system, introducing a broader range of item prices beyond the iconic SGD 2 mark.
AsiaOne has requested additional details from Daiso.
