The Role: Junior Professional, East Africa
Palladium's Partnerships for Forests (P4F) - Phase 2 is on a mission to catalyze positive change. As a Junior Professional, you'll be at the heart of this initiative, providing crucial support to the East Africa regional team. Your responsibilities will span from conducting desk-based research to inform regional strategies to coordinating meetings and maintaining accurate records. You'll also be involved in reviewing draft submissions, conducting due diligence, and supporting project management.
Here's what you'll get to do:
- Project Development: Conduct desk-based research to inform regional strategy and project design.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in meetings and maintain engagement records.
- Documentation: Draft and support the development of idea notes and project concept notes.
- Review and Quality Assurance: Review and ensure the quality of draft submissions from prospective grantees.
- Coordination: Coordinate due diligence, budgeting, contracting, and risk documentation.
- Results Identification: Support identifying results in collaboration with MEL teams.
- Project Management: Assist with implementation monitoring, report reviews, and grant payment processes.
- Reporting and Administration: Prepare client and internal program reports, maintain records, and support progress tracking.
What We're Looking For
- Passion and Interest: Demonstrated interest or experience in international development, climate and nature-based solutions, forestry, or land use.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Communication: Fluency in English and Swahili, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptability: Adaptability, initiative, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Legal Right to Work: Legal right to work in Kenya without sponsorship.
